Farming Souls from Troopers

One thing that a lot of new players might not know is the mechanic for collecting Souls from troopers (creeps) in Deadlock.
Killing troopers is a good way to farm Souls that you can then spend in the shop to upgrade your stats/abilities. This is crucial especially early on in the game.
For the first 10 minutes of any match, 50% of Souls are gained from killing a trooper with a weapon or with an ability, and 50% by securing the orbs (shown in picture) that appear after the trooper is destroyed.
After 10 minutes however, no Souls are gained from the killing of the trooper, and can ONLY be gained from the Soul orbs.
Soul orbs appear 1 second after a trooper dies, and last for 3 seconds before popping with no interference.
No Soul orbs will appear at any time when killing a trooper with a melee attack, all Souls will automatically be credited to the player, so finishing a trooper with a melee attack is a solid way to ensure you are gaining all Souls available.
It is important to know this because if the Soul orbs float away and expire with no interference, then they are automatically awarded to the player that killed the trooper, however, the Souls contained in a Soul orb can be secured by you or denied by a member of the enemy team (if they shoot the orbs from a trooper you have killed before you shoot it or before it expires).

This should influence the way you play, because securing and denying Souls is crucial if you want to get ahead in the early game. Focusing on securing and denying in the early game is a valid strategy as you can easily farm many more Souls than if you are solely focusing on killing enemy players.
When you do manage to kill the enemy players on your lane, it can be a good idea to farm as many troopers as possible rather than focusing on their Guardian (for example), as the enemy players will not be there to deny any Souls from you.
